Hogmanay is New Year’s Eve in Scotland, and includes many traditions familiar to New Year’s revelers the world round. But Scotland, and specifically Shetland, has many traditions unique to itself. Learn more about Hogmanay and Shetland as you experience 31 days of surprises from Shetland wool producers, designers, and makers.

The Shetland Hogmanay Box includes the yarn for seven projects from Uradale Yarn, Laxdale Yarn, Aister ‘oo’, Silly Sheep Co., Foula Wool, Jamieson’s of Shetland, and West Lynne Wool. Yarns range from lace to DK, all spun from Shetland-grown wool.

Each project was designed specifically for the Shetland Hogmanay Box by creative, experienced, Shetland-based designers, including Janette Budge, Mandy Moore, Viveka Velupillai, Nicole Estelle, Sheila Halcrow, Emily Poleson, and Barbara Cheyne. Patterns will be provided as a download code that will allow you to download a digital copy of the pattern for free.

In addition to the yarn and patterns, the boxes will include seven gifts from Shetland makers or inspired by Shetland and information about the special New Years traditions of Shetland.

The boxes will ship to UK addresses in early October, other international addresses in mid-October, and US-based addresses in early November.
